Profile: Who and/or what is flight of harmony?
Flight of harmony is the catchall name for whatever comes from the mind of flight. Our main focus is sonic innovation and experimentation but, being ADD as hell, many other things creep in from time to time as well. We hope to create, to learn, and to inspire (or enable) others on our way.
We are currently focusing on discrete devices that can be used in the studio or on the road: battery powered where possible, or parasitic if size decrees so; portability and durability; LOTS of user-controllable parameters. We are also focusing on analog circuitry for the nonce, but will expand into other arenas in the future.
We are always looking for new ideas – if there is anything you would like to share, please let us know! We gladly take on custom requests (if within our means), and nothing is ever set in stone.
We also love to hear from musicians, technicians, idle dreamers, etc… Is there something nagging you, such as “Why has nobody made …?” We really want to help to further the musical arts, and need your input!
When possible, we prefer to recycle electronics. Millions of fascinating electronic items and other “out of date” goods are thrown away when they could be re-purposed and reborn! The reality of our dwindling resources is casting a fearful pall over the future and is, frankly, frigging depressing! So, we are doing what we can to reduce waste. Recycled items are inspected and tested. Components with definite usage-related failure rates are bought new by necessity. All of our products are tested before shipping, and come with a lifetime workmanship guarantee (custom requests may differ) – if our product fails due to our workmanship or a recycled component fails due to age, that product will be repaired or replaced (at our discretion) for free. We even pay shipping under these circumstances.
Of course, recycling means that individual items may vary in appearance, construction, and type of components. Substantial cosmetic anomalies will be stated in the description when possible and described in detail upon request. We try our best to keep product lines uniform but, availability is the final determiner. Images are intended as a general representation of the product line, individual units from that line may vary unless otherwise stated. Images of specific individual units will be provided upon request. We are ALWAYS researching new ( and hopefully better) ways of doing everything, so specifics and method change constantly. Show less
